INDUSTRIAL CHOREOGRAPHY

At 3daysofdesign 2026, LAYERED and Massproductions present Industrial Choreography—an installation that translates the two-dimensional craft of weaving into a spatial experience. It captures the dynamic that sparked their new Cord Collection: the intersection of Massproductions’ industrial rigor and LAYERED's living craftsmanship.

Inside the exhibition, large rotating pillars clad in heavy wool yarn mimic the mechanical rhythm of the loom. The movement is a physical manifestation of a shared design philosophy: working with the logic of manufacturing, rather than against it.

In the Cord Collection, the signature stripe is integrated directly into the warp—the vertical threads that form the rug's foundation. By setting these structural threads in motion, the choreographed rotation allows the bold accent colors to fully emerge. It is an elegant mechanical choreography where industrial precision embraces the natural irregularities of human craft.

"The reason we invited Massproductions, and what made us so curious about this collaboration, was their perspective on manufacturing.

– Malin Glemme, founder of LAYERED

"We wanted to see what happens when Massproductions industrial, rational mindset meets our production, where the human hand is everything. This exhibition symbolizes that meeting point; the heavy wool yarn represents LAYERED and our tactile craft, while the mechanical rotation represents Massproductions and their industrial precision. It is handcraft and industry working together."

– Malin Glemme
