RESPONSIBILITY
LAYERED's collections begin with natural fibers and handcrafting — weaving, tufting and knotting, all done by hand by skilled artisans. From there, our design language is shaped by high standards for materials and execution — a choice that brings not only quality, but a responsibility that runs through the entire production chain. Guided by our internal environmental policy, we focus on design integrity, product longevity and ethical partnerships.

Our centerpieces are made by hand, in small batches to meet demand, and shipped by sea to our warehouse in Sweden. We collaborate with two regions specialized in different handcrafting techniques, renowned for their heritage craftsmanship.
Bhadohi, India: A center for handmade rugs since the 1500s. Here, our rugs are hand-knotted, woven and tufted by experienced artisans.
Samarina, Greece: Home of the traditional flokati technique behind our shaggy rugs. After knotting, each rug is washed in ice-cold, rushing water — recreating the force of a mountain stream and giving the flokati its characteristic pile.

GoodWeave™
As part of our commitment to social responsibility, all our rugs are GoodWeave Certified. This independent certification verifies fair working conditions and ensures no child labor occurs in any part of production.

LAYERED's design language is rooted in art and culture — references built to last beyond seasons.
Each collection takes shape in our Stockholm studio, where the design team, together with founder and Creative Director Malin Glemme, explores how artistic expression can be translated into handcrafted textiles.
Through collaborations with artists and interior designers around the world, we broaden the view of what Scandinavian design can be.
