About the production Each rug in the Heather Chontos collection takes 5 to 10 days to make, requiring 2 to 3 artisans. Weavers use hand-knotting and switch between 10 to 15 yarn shades to follow the pattern. Various dyeing techniques, like space, solid, and abrash dyeing, capture the depth and color of Chontos’ paintings. After completion, the yarns are washed separately, and the rug is hand-cut for the final touch.
About Heather Chontos Heather Chontos is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist, known for her abstract compositions where bold colors and dynamic shapes take center stage. Chontos has collaborated with top brands like Ligne Roset, creating a limited series of covers for their 50th anniversary Togo sofa. Her work has been exhibited in New York, London, and Paris, gaining recognition in design and art. She is also a recipient of the Elle Deco International Design Award.
